17 weeks

I thought I would post a belly shot since I am starting to feel like my belly is getting bigger!

I had a dream a few nights ago that the baby was a girl but I still don't have a strong feeling one was or the other. Two and a half more weeks until the ultrasound!!!!!!

Finally finished!

I started a latch hook back in High School and I finally finished it tonight! It only took me like 6 or so years to do it. It is going to be for the baby's room. I haven't decided whether it should be a small rug or whether it should hang on the wall, but I still have some time to figure it out. Abby really liked it! She even posed for a picture with it.

Doctor's Appt.

This morning I went to the doctor's and got to hear the heartbeat again : ) The baby's heart rate was 149. The old wives tale is that anything over 140 is a girl but as the doctor said that is only right about 50% of the time! So we are going to have to wait to find out. I don't even really have a feeling of what it might be. It's a mystery! I have gained about 4 pounds so far which I think isn't too bad!

I scheduled the ultrasound which is my next appointment for April 16th! In like 5 weeks, which seems so far away. I am 15 weeks now so I will be 20 weeks by the ultrasound. Rick starts working 6am to 2:30 soon so I made the appointment in the afternoon so he can come. He hasn't gotten to hear the heartbeat yet so he is excited he will get to hear it and see the baby on the 16th (hopefully find out the sex too!). We can also bring a recordable DVD and get the ultrasound on DVD which I think is awesome. So of course we will have to show everyone!

HEARTBEAT & Happy Valentine's Day!

I went to the doctor on Thursday morning and I got to hear the heartbeat : ) It was a quick visit and it didn't take the doctor long at all to find the heartbeat. He said let's try getting it from outside and he used a little wand thing, moved it around a few times and found the heartbeat. He said it sounded good and when they can get the heartbeat from the outside the chances of anything going wrong(miscarriage or such) drops from 20% down to 2%. So that made me feel good! Only a couple more weeks and the first trimester will be over! My next appointment is March 12th and at that appointment we schedule the ultrasound to find out whether we're having a boy or a girl (it will be in early April). We can't wait!!!!

We told Rick's parents and sister the news yesterday and told my family today! I thought Valentine's Day was a perfect time to tell them. They are all happy for us and excited about the new addition to our families!

Ultrasound-8 weeks

We had the ultrasound yesterday and everything looks good! We even got a picture of the baby to take home! It doesn't look like too much, kind of like a bean but it was cool to see : ) The picture is a little blurry but you can see a little leg : )

Growing baby

At the bottom of the blog is a belly cam that I thought was cool and added shortly after I made the first blog posting. Well, the little baby(embryo) stayed the same size until today! I look at the blog just about everyday and today it was bigger and now actually looks like a tiny baby and less like an alien. I guess instead of an embryo it is now a fetus but we can just call it tiny baby! I was really excited (I think Rick thinks I am a little crazy) : )

Anyways we go for the ultrasound tomorrow morning! I am suppose to drink 48oz of water and not go to the bathroom. I guess they can see things in there better if you have a full bladder. But I think 48oz is a bit much. So I decided I will drink at least a big water bottle and not worry about the exact measurement! Besides the whole drinking tons of water and not going to the bathroom part, we are excited!

First Doctor's Appointment!

We had our first doctor's appointment yesterday and it's official! I am 7 weeks pregnant. The doctor said everything looks great. They sent me to get some blood drawn for initial prenatal testing and they took 7 vials! It wasn't too bad. We get to go a week from Tuesday on the 27th to a special doctor(who deals with kidneys and pregnancy and such) to get an ultrasound. Since one of my kidneys is in the pelvic region they want to make sure everything is alright with the kidney, ovary and baby! So we will get an early look at the tiny baby! My next appointment with my doctor is on February 12th. Rick can't go with me because he starts training for his new job on January 29th. He is excited though because he can go to the ultrasound appointment and so am I : ) We'll let you know how it goes! Oh yeah and our tentative due date is September 5th!
